Hyderabad: A Telangana High Court Division Bench comprising Chief Justice Ujjal Bhuyan and Justice C.V Bhaskar Reddy on Tuesday heard a batch of public interest litigations regarding Osmania General Hospital (OGH), Hyderabad.
Some petitioners asked not to demolish the OGH building which is a heritage structure, while some said the hospital building should be demolished as it is in a dilapidated condition.
Advocate General Banda Shivananda Prasad asked the court not to pass any interim directions in the larger public interest as it's a matter of hospitals.
One of the petitioner counsels informed the court that around Rs. 200 crores are required to take up the OGH renovation project.
Chief Justice Ujjal Bhuyan asked the state government to come up with a proposal about what can be done for the welfare of society regarding OGH. The CJ Bench directed the state to consult all authorities concerned and come up with a comprehensive report on OGH. The report is to be submitted at the next hearing.
The matter was adjourned to 7 February 2023.
