Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court single Bench of Justice K. Lakshman has issued a contempt of court notice to V.C Sajjanar, the managing director of TSRTC, for not complying with the orders of the court in a writ petition filed by Mohd. Danish Khan, a businessman from Shaikhpet in Raidurgam, Hyderabad.
Mr. Sajjanar was directed to appear before the court in person on 14 October.
On 1 June 2021, Justice K. Lakshman, while dealing with the writ petition filed by the petitioner, had directed Mr. Sajjanar, the then police commissioner of Cyberabad, to pass an order on the fresh application of the petitioner seeking renewal of arms license by giving him a hearing opportunity.
The petitioner approached the High Court by filing a contempt case against Mr. Sajjanar, seeking to punish the respondent IPS officer for deliberately not complying with the orders of the High Court and thereby rejecting his representation for granting renewal of arms license.
Justice K. Lakshman on Friday issued Form-I notice against Mr. Sajjanar and directed him to appear before the court at the next hearing of the case.
