Hyderabad: On Thursday, a petition was brought in front of the Telangana High Court which sought a probe into the alleged irregularities and corrupt activities of many high-profile Telangana politicians in Telangana including chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao, Nizamabad MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha, and minister Harish Rao.

The Division Bench, comprising Chief Justice Alok Aradhe and Justice Anil Kumar Jukanti, was hearing a writ petition filed by MA Khadar Mohiuddin from Nizamabad seeking an investigation into the activities of the political leaders, who he alleged were misusing their power to influence the voters in the ensuing Telangana State Assembly Elections. He also alleged that the political leaders were securing their votes among the public by distributing money and liquor.

The petitioner Khadar Mohiuddin is a social activist and an advocate clerk. He is a resident of Malapally in Nizamabad Town. He filed his nomination to contest in the ongoing state elections from Nizamabad which was rejected by the returning officer.

The petitioner had also filed two representations: one to the director general of police on November 2 and the other to the chief electoral officer of Telangana on November 4, detailing his allegations against CM KCR, Kavitha, ministers K Taraka Rama Rao and T Harish Rao, Karimnagar BJP MP Bandi Sanjay, TPCC chief A Revanth Reddy, and Nizamabad BJP MP Dharmapuri Arvind.

The petitioner urged the court to direct the CEO to hold the elections in a transparent manner by ā€˜restraining the above leaders from influencing the votersā€™ in the ensuing State Assembly Elections.

The petitioner said that the two representations with the DGP and the TS CEO are pending. The Chief Justice Bench directed the two officials to process the representation of the petitioner before November 30.
