Hyderabad: A heatwave warning was issued by the Telangana State Development Planning Society (TSDPS) for several of the state’s districts. For the next seven days, the maximum temperature in Hyderabad is expected to range between 39 and 45°Celsius.

The meteorological department issued an advisory for the city, predicting that the city will experience a heatwave from Sunday with daytime highs of 45°Celsius.

The minimum temperature in Hyderabad on Sunday is predicted to be about 29°Celsius, while the high might be 39°Celsius. Throughout the day, it is anticipated that the temperature will be about 39°Celsius with an 8.3 wind speed. The wind will have a 307° direction and a 13.93 mph gust.

According to the prediction, the increase in humidity will also make evenings supersaturated, and the maximum temperatures in 15 districts of the state are expected to go over 45°Celsius.

Jagtial, Karimnagar, Mancherial, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Adilabad, Nirmal, Mulugu, Kumuram Bheem Asifabad, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Nalgonda, Khammam, Suryapet, and Peddapalli are among the districts issued an orange warning.

“Almost close to 45 C temperatures are being recorded at Vijayawada city and areas close to the city as the heat zone is triggered by very hot winds from Telangana. At 3 pm, Kamavarapukota, Eluru district reached 44.7 C. If Today it’s just crossing 45 C, then tomorrow and on 16th May temperatures may reach 46 C or 47 C along the same region of the Vijayawada - Guntur - Eluru - Palnadu - Ubhaya Godavari belt,” tweeted weatherman Sai Praneeth Burah, popularly known as the Andhra Pradesh weatherman.

The dry period in Telangana and Hyderabad is thought to be a result of Cyclone Mocha, which has intensified into a severe cyclonic storm over the southeast corner of the Bay of Bengal and nearby areas.

The public is advised to remain hydrated, stay out of the sun’s direct beams, and take other essential precautions to protect themselves from the intense heat.
