Heatwave sweeps across Telangana; Hyderabad swelters at 39.3 degree C

Hyderabad: Hyderabad continues to experience extreme heatwave, with temperature reaching 39.3 degree Celsius on Tuesday, a 2-degree increase from Monday.

This weather will continue till May 31st. This temperature rise has led to thinner traffic on the roads, as residents prefer to stay indoors to escape the intense heat.

High Temperatures across the City

Various parts of Hyderabad recorded temperatures ranging from 40 to 42 degree Celsius. Uppal experienced the highest temperature at 42.9 degree Celsius, followed by Asif Nagar and Khairatabad at 42.5 degree Celsius.

Statewide Heatwave Conditions

In Telangana, all 33 districts reported temperatures between 40 and 44 degree Celsius this week. Adilabad recorded the highest temperature at 44.5 degree Celsius, with Kumarm Bheem Asifabad and Nirmal following at 44.3 and 43.6 degree Celsius, respectively.

Weather Forecast

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD) ā€“ Hyderabad, dry weather is expected to persist throughout the state, including Hyderabad, until May 31. The IMD forecast indicates that light to moderate rainfall may occur at isolated places across the state from May 31 to June 2. Additionally, a further rise in maximum temperatures by 2 to 3 degree Celsius is expected across Telangana over the next three days.

Balaji, popularly known as Telangana weatherman said, "The current heatwave conditions are likely to continue, with temperatures remaining high until the end of the month. Residents should take necessary precautions to stay hydrated and avoid direct sun exposure during peak hours."

Public Advisory

Residents are advised to stay indoors as much as possible and stay hydrated. Those who need to venture out should wear appropriate clothing and use sunscreen to protect against the harsh weather conditions.
