Reservoir Updates and Inflows

By 8:30 PM Friday, the water level in Hussain Sagar stood at 513.20 meters, just below its Full Tank Level (FTL) of 513.41 meters. GHMC officials said they are maintaining a close watch on the water levels to ensure safety and avoid overflow risks.
At Osmansagar, as of 5 PM Wednesday, the water level was 1,782 feet against its FTL of 1,790 feet. There were no fresh inflows due to reduced upstream rainfall. Meanwhile, Himayatsagar was receiving inflows at the rate of 250 cusecs, with the current water level at 1,761 feet, slightly below its FTL of 1,763 feet.
Weather Forecast for the Coming Days
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Hyderabad, light to moderate rainfall is expected to continue over the next three to four days due to an active monsoon trough over Telangana. Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds may occur in isolated parts of the city.
āGiven the moisture availability and active monsoon phase, Hyderabad is likely to experience evening showers for the next few days,ā said meteorologist K. S. Sridhar, speaking to Newsmeter. āPeople should avoid low-lying areas during peak rain hours and stay updated with official advisories.ā
The IMD has also advised local bodies to remain alert for potential waterlogging, especially in flood-prone areas.
Civic Response and Monitoring
GHMCās disaster response teams have been put on standby in sensitive zones across the city. Officials have urged residents to report any emergencies related to waterlogging, drainage overflow, or tree falls via the GHMC helpline.
As the city continues to receive intermittent rainfall, authorities are balancing reservoir management, civic preparedness, and infrastructure maintenance to mitigate risks during this active monsoon period.
