Hyderabad: Come November, winter makes a grand entry in Hyderabad. Night time temperature has dipped below 20°C.

Cooler evenings have begun to settle across the city, with suburban areas feeling particularly chilly. Weathermen predict a deeper winter chill by the end of the week as temperatures continue to drop.

Suburban Areas Feel the Cold

Several suburbs in Hyderabad are already experiencing lower temperatures. Areas like Rajendranagar, Ramachandrapuram, and Patancheru saw minimum temperatures dip to 17.6°C from 17.8°C on Monday.

In other parts of the city, the Telangana Development Planning Society recorded 18°C in GHMC zones like Alwal, Qutbullhapur, Chandanagar, and sections of Secunderabad.

Slightly warmer spots, such as Santoshnagar, Falaknuma, Charminar, and Malakpet, recorded night temperatures between 21°C and 23°C.

Temperatures Expected to Dip Further

Weather forecasts suggest further declines in nighttime temperatures, with areas like Rajendranagar, Begumpet, Secunderabad, LB Nagar, and Jubilee Hills possibly reaching lows of around 16°C in the coming days.

Speaking to Newsmeter, Weatherman T. Balaji, popularly known as Telangana Weatherman said: “The cooling trend is expected to continue, giving Hyderabad a taste of winter. As we move into December, nighttime temperatures could drop further.”

Warm Days, Cool Nights

While nights are cooling rapidly, daytime temperatures remain above 30°C in many parts of Hyderabad.

On Monday, neighborhoods including Kapra, Yousufguda, Chandanagar, Amberpet, Mehdipatnam, and Hayathnagar reached daytime highs of around 34°C to 35°C, with Kapra peaking at 35.6°C.

IMD officials forecast a gradual dip in daytime highs, with temperatures potentially dropping below 30°C later this week.

Cloudy Skies and Hazy Mornings Ahead

The IMD predicts partly cloudy skies for the next 24 hours, with hazy or misty mornings expected.

Maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to remain around 32°C and 19°C, respectively, accompanied by gentle north-easterly winds at 6 to 8 km/h. These conditions are expected to persist for the following 48 hours.
