Here’s how political parties will celebrate September 17 in Telangana
The Central government has termed September 17 as Hyderabad Liberation Day, contrary to the stand of the TRS government and the AIMIM.

Here’s how political parties are gearing up to celebrate September 17 in their unique ways.
AIMIM’s Tiranga bike rally and public meeting
Barrister and AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi will lead the party and many others in organising a Tiranga bike tally on September 17. The rally will be followed by a public meeting.
“We will be celebrating #NationalIntegrationDay on 17th September, 2023. We will observe the day the erstwhile Hyderabad state was integrated into independent and democratic India. A Tiranga rally will start from Dargah Yousufain to Bazarghat to Eidgah Bilali Masab Tank. The rally will start after Zuhar prayers & conclude at Eidgah Bilali with a public meeting,” Owaisi had tweeted earlier.
Congress mega rally
The Congress party will be hosting a grand political rally in Tukkuguda, featuring senior leaders like Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, and AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge. The local farmers helped the Telangana Congress Party by providing private land of 100 acres for the event. Congress leaders said that the party will announce five guarantees for the upcoming Telangana elections during the mega rally.
BRS National Integration Day celebrations
Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) will commemorate September 17 as National Integration Day, with chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao stressing unity and development in Telangana and leading the state-wide celebrations.
The state ministers are getting ready to oversee the celebrations to be organised on a grand scale. Many of them will be hoisting the Tricolour in the district headquarters, as directed by minister KT Rama Rao.
BJP’s celebrations include Amit Shah’s visit to Hyderabad
Union Home Minister Amit Shah will be visiting Hyderabad on September 17 and address a public meeting at Parade Grounds at 9 am. During the meeting, he is expected to touch upon various political and developmental issues. His schedule also includes an early morning interaction with key state leaders to discuss crucial matters.
G. Niranjan to Hoist the National Flag at Charminar
The Rajiv Gandhi Sadbhavana Yatra Commemoration Committee, chaired by G. Niranjan, will observe the Hyderabad Merger Day at the iconic Charminar. On Sunday, September 17, 2023, at 8:30 AM, Chairman G. Niranjan will hoist the National Flag, marking the day when Hyderabad was merged into the Indian Union.
Tributes at the Martyrs Memorial
Another significant program organized by Telangana Congress Saradhya Brundam (TCMG) will take place at the Martyrs Memorial, Ashoka Pillar, Koti Bus Stand. Retired IAS officer Sri B. Venkateshwar Rao will have the honor of hoisting the National Flag at 10:30 AM. The ceremony will also include floral tributes to the martyrs by prominent leaders, including Sri V. Hanumanth Rao, Sri Ponnala Laxmaiah, Sri M. Kodanda Reddy, Sri Kamalakar Rao, and Sri A. Shyam Mohan, among others.
