`Hesitant' youth prefers death over vaccine, Hyderabad slips into shock

Hyderabad: A 20-year-old `hesitant' youth ended his life after his family asked him to take a COVID jab at Manikonda in Hyderabad.
Identified as Shiva Prakash, a resident of the Garden area in Manikonda, he took the extreme step on Sunday.
Police said after completing his education, Shiva Prakash was staying with his brothers and parents. Due to the worrying pandemic situation, his family members were pressing him to get vaccinated. However, he had been reluctant to take the jab.
Recently, he even had arguments with his family members over the issue. They explained to him about the vaccine and its benefits, but he refused to take the jab.
As they continued to pressurize him, he left home on Sunday. A few hours later, he was found lying on the roadside in an unconscious state. People rushed him to a nearby private hospital where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
