Hyderabad: The Telangana government on 22 August informed the High Court Division Bench headed by Chief Justice Ujjal Bhuyan and Justice C.V. Bhaskar Reddy that the state government has already sanctioned Rs. 50 crores for the revival and conservation of the Hill Fort palace, which is notified as a heritage building. TS sought six weeks to apprise the court of the renovation work.
The Division Bench was hearing a public interest litigation filed by the Hyderabad Heritage Trust represented by its founder and managing trustee Deepak Kant Gir who contended before the court that the Hill Fort palace is getting damaged due to a lack of proper maintenance by both the state and Central governments.
The petitioner further urged the court to issue a direction to the TS government to accord permission to the petitioner to take up repairs and renovation work of the Hill Fort in case the respective governments do not take any initiative to take up the repair works.
Special GP Andapalli Sanjeev Kumar requested the court six weeks to obtain information from the authorities concerned.
The matter was adjourned for further hearing to 1 November.
