Hyderabad: Drawing inspiration from HYDRAAā€™s action on illegal structures in the city, the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) has served a notice to the president of the Telugu Cine Workers Co-operative Housing Society Limited in Chitrapuri Colony on the unauthorised construction of 225 row houses.

In the notice, HMDA has asked the society to reply to a complaint filed by a person named O Kalyan who alleged the unauthorised construction in the colony. HMDA also directed the society to not take up further construction of row houses.

The complainant has sought the HMDA to take necessary action against the 225 row houses which were supposedly constructed against the GO 658 (ASN-III) Department. Accordingly, the Manikonda Municipality officials have inspected the site and noticed that the executive committee of the society has constructed the row house violating the norms.

Take action within 15 days, says HMDA

The officials also observed that the society had illegally/unauthorisedly deviated from the above construction by adding extra built-up area and also some illegal constructions were taken up over the permitted floors. The HMDA directed the society to submit the revised approval copy of the built-up area of the 225 row houses and also remove the additional construction made if any on the said row houses within 15 days.

The HMDA, in its notice, also mentioned that it will remove/demolish the unauthorised constructions, as per the Telangana Municipalities Act 2019. Further, in spite of issuing notice, if the society fails to comply with the directions, the matter may be forwarded to Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Monitoring and Protection (HYDRAA) for taking necessary action in the matter, the officials said in the notice.
