Hyderabad: Residents of multiple localities in Hyderabad are likely to face temporary water supply interruptions as the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) undertakes pipeline expansion and connection works as part of the elevated corridor project from Paradise Junction to Dairy Farm Road (NH–44).

The work is scheduled to begin at October 27 (Monday),12 pm, and continue until 6 am October 28 (Tuesday), lasting a total of 18 hours.

Pipeline Expansion and Connection Work

The HMDA is expanding an 800 mm MS pipeline belonging to the local water department at Paradise Junction. In addition, the existing MS pipeline from Maredpally to the control room will be connected to the newly laid pipeline at Sports Ground, Lee-Royal Junction, and Balanrai.

Areas likely to be affected

Water supply may be disrupted in the following areas:

Reservoir Zones: Nallagutta, Prakash Nagar, Mekalmandi, Bodhanagar, Srinivasanagar, Patigadda.

Nearby Localities: Bholakpur, Kavadiguda, Sitaphalmandi.

Peripheral Regions: Hasmatpeta, Ferozguda, Gautamnagar.

Bulk Consumers: South Central Railway (SCR) Secunderabad, Military Engineering Services (MES), and Begumpet Airport.

Balanrai Pumping Areas: Balanrai Pump House, Balanrai Check Post, Bowenpally, and AOC Railway Colony (within SCB coverage).

Public Advisory

HMDA has urged residents and bulk consumers in the affected areas to use water judiciously during the period of disruption to minimize inconvenience.
