Hoax bomb call at Pune Google office: Hyderabad man arrested
The call later turned out to be a hoax and the caller was allegedly in an inebriated state.
By Newsmeter Network Published on 13 Feb 2023 11:35 AM GMTHyderabad: After Googleās Mumbai office received a hoax call about a bomb planted at its Pune office, a person from Hyderabad has been arrested. The person has been identified as Panayam Shivanand from Hyderabad.
According to the Mumbai police, the Google office, located at Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) in Mumbai, received a call at 7.54 p.m. on 12 February. The caller said a bomb had been planted at the companyās Pune office, located on the 11th floor of a multi-storey commercial building in the Mundhwa area of Pune. The police reached the office with a bomb detection and disposal squad after an alert was issued.
The call later turned out to be a hoax and the caller was allegedly in an inebriated state.
A case was registered by the Bandra Kurla Complex police station in Mumbai city under sections 505 (1) (b) and 506(2) of the IPC. As soon as the case was registered, the police started working on the call data records and traced the caller to Chandnagar in Hyderabad, Telangana.
A team was then sent to Hyderabad and the caller was taken into custody.
