Hyderabad: The Shahinayathgunj police arrested five persons, including a minor, for the murder of Neeraj Panwar within 24 hours of the crime taking place. The four arrested persons have been identified as K. Vijay Yadav (22), K. Sanjay Yadav (25), B. Rohith Yadav (18), and Mahesh Aheer Yadav (21).
Under the direction of Hyderabad commissioner of police C.V Anand, the police formed seven teams, including a task force, to track down the accused. Efforts are in progress to nab the absconding accused Abhinanadan Yadav (26).
On 20 May, the 20-year-old Neeraj Panwar was hacked to death in the busy street of Hyderabad's Begum Bazaar. Neeraj was on his way home with his father when five people stopped his bike and stabbed him in the crowded lane.
Neeraj was a wholesale groundnut trader in Aflzalgunj. The police suspect this was a case of honour killing. Neeraj married Sanjana a year ago. However, Sanjana's family was against the marriage.
This is the second such incident in the last 15 days. A sales executive was murdered by his wife's brother in Saroornagar.
