On 20 May, the 20-year-old Neeraj Panwar was hacked to death in the busy street of Hyderabad's Begum Bazaar. Neeraj was on his way home with his father when five people stopped his bike and stabbed him in the crowded lane.

Neeraj was a wholesale groundnut trader in Aflzalgunj. The police suspect this was a case of honour killing. Neeraj married Sanjana a year ago. However, Sanjana's family was against the marriage.

This is the second such incident in the last 15 days. A sales executive was murdered by his wife's brother in Saroornagar.
