Horse Power Sports League comes calling to Hyderabad; 7 teams to vie for title in Dec

Hyderabad: The enchanting world of equestrian sports is all set to make its grand entrance in Hyderabad with the inaugural edition of the Horse Power Sports League (HPSL) scheduled to commence this December.

A Novel Sporting Spectacle:

In a bid to revolutionize the sporting landscape, HPSL Chairman and Managing Director, Suresh Paladugu, unveiled plans for this unique equestrian league. One of its defining features is the choice to host matches exclusively on weekends over nine weeks. This approach is geared toward ensuring maximum engagement and accessibility for both participants and spectators. The grand vision includes hosting two editions each year, with the first slated for the December, January, and February window, and the second in June, July, and August.

Competition and Spirit:

The HPSL will see a total of seven teams vying for supremacy, each bringing their unique flair and horsemanship to the arena. The league not only promises thrilling contests but also seeks to kindle a renewed interest in equestrian sports, reinforcing that it's much more than just a game of chance. Chairman of the Hyderabad Race Club, Surender Reddy, expressed his excitement and optimism about the HPSL, hailing it as a remarkable concept. He sees it as an opportunity to not only showcase the age-old history of horse racing but also underline the deep connection between humans and these majestic creatures. Reddy also touched upon the importance of shedding the image of horse riding as mere gambling, emphasizing the cultural and historical significance of equestrian pursuits.

Support from the Government:

Furthermore, the organizers have reached out to both the central and state governments, urging them to offer support and incentives for horse sports, including favorable tax conditions, to encourage this noble and time-honored discipline.
