How to book 'Fogging on Request’ on GHMC App

Hyderabad: Soon, the citizens of Hyderabad can get rid of mosquitoes in their locality using their phones! The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has come up with a new digital feature called ‘Fogging on Request’ in the My GHMC app. Using this app, people can schedule mosquito fogging by the GHMC in their area.
How does the request for mosquito fogging work?
- Any citizen of GHMC, who is facing mosquito menace, can log in to My GHMC mobile app and request fogging.
- The request will be received by the assistant entomologist and assigned to the area fogging worker.
- Once the request is attended to and the fogging is done in that area, the request is said to be resolved by uploading a photo with geolocation.
What are the benefits of the feature?
Through technology, the GHMC hopes to solve the generic complaint of the officials missing out on some areas and repetitively fogging others.
By enabling the technology, the GHMC hopes to use the resources optimally. The number of slots will be available based on staff availability in the area. To prevent redundant requests from the same area, once the fogging is done in one area, the next fogging exercise will only be done after a week.
Which areas can access the fogging feature?
Initially, the feature’s functionality will be tested as a pilot at the Jubilee Hills circle and will be extended to the entire GHMC soon. The additional commissioner of GHMC has requested citizens to use this opportunity.
