Hyderabad: Going beyond his call of duty, a TGSRTC bus conductor helped a pregnant woman to give birth in Telangana.

On August 19, the pregnant woman who was traveling on the Gadawal- Wanaparthy Palle Velugu bus went into labor.

The bus conductor G Bharathi acted quickly and stopped the bus. With the help of a nurse who was also on board, Bharathi helped the woman deliver the baby girl.

Later, the mother and child were taken to a local hospital.

In a post on X, TGSRTC MD Sajjanar appreciated the conductor for saving both mother and child. "The mother and child are safe because of her timely treatment and the help of the nurse. It is a great thing that RTC employees show the spirit of service as a social responsibility while bringing the passengers safely to their destinations," wrote Sajjanar on X.

A similar incident happened a month ago, when a pregnant woman Shweta Ratnam who boarded the 1Z route bus from Musheerabad depot got labour pains while travelling. Bus conductor R Saroja and other female passengers helped the pregnant woman deliver a baby girl. The TGSRTC has announced to give the newborn baby a lifetime free bus pass.
