Hyderabad: A teenagerās cricket game ended in shock after he found a human skeleton while picking up the ball from an abandoned house in Nampally on Monday.
Photos and videos go viral
After discovering the skeletal remains, the boy took photos and videos of the scene and uploaded them on social media, which soon went viral. The visuals showed the skeleton lying amidst old utensils, possibly in the kitchen area, sparking fear among residents.
Police alerted, investigation begins
Upon being alerted by locals, Habeeb Nagar police rushed to the spot. They forcibly opened the locked door of the abandoned house and confirmed the presence of skeletal remains inside.
The man had reportedly been living alone there since 2015, police said. The CLUES team also visited the scene to collect forensic samples for further investigation.
House owner suspected as deceased
According to preliminary investigation, the deceased was unmarried and had been living alone. A switched-off mobile phone was found near the skeleton. Upon turning it on, they found over 80 missed calls and several contact numbers.
His siblings told police that they had lost contact with him and assumed he had relocated. As he was living independently, no missing persons complaint had been filed.
Police officials said there were no signs of struggle or blood at the spot, leading them to suspect a natural death that remained unnoticed for a long time.
South-West Zone DCP Chandramohan visited the house and reviewed the investigation process.
Remains may be sent for Autopsy
āIt was not clear when and how he died. The skeletal remains were sent for medical examination. It is looking like natural death, but the actual cause of death can be known based on the FSL (Forensic Science Lab) report,ā the official said. A case of unnatural death was registered and further investigation is on, police added.
