Hyderabad: The number of passengers in a single day from Hyderabad International Airport touched around 53,000 on 27 March, which is 109% of pre-Covid daily average domestic traffic. The airport also recorded the highest number of post-Covid domestic air traffic movements (ATMs) of 374 on the same day.

The scheduled international commercial flights resumed on 27 March. With a drop in COVID-19 cases and borders opening up for tourists, the global travel industry is once again set to bounce back.

In the last few months, Hyderabad International Airport has added 15 new domestic sectors. It is now connected to over 70 domestic destinations, up from the pre-Covid period of 55 domestic destinations.

The airport witnessed about seven lakh domestic passengers and around one lakh international travellers during the first half of March 2022.

On 28 March, the airport also achieved the highest ever international passenger recovery of 89% of pre-Covid daily average passenger traffic.
