Hyderabad: The sleuths of the commissioner's task force, west zone team, arrested a city businessman on 29 April who was selling oxygen cylinders without a valid permit.

The police along with drug control officials raided the godown of Ayesha Enterprises located at Golkonda, Hyderabad, and arrested Md. Abdul Kareem (32) for illegally selling oxygen cylinders. They seized 19 cylinders from his possession.

With the surge in COVID-19 cases many hospitals are facing a shortage of oxygen cylinders. Kareem started selling oxygen cylinders at higher rates and brought the cylinders to his home in Golkonda. On credible information, the west zone task force team along with the drug inspector raided his residence and arrested him on Thursday.

On 28 April, the sleuths of the commissioner's task force, east zone team, had arrested a Kachiguda pharmacy owner for black marketing COVID-19 antiviral drug Remdesivir. B. Srihari (39), who ran a pharmacy store called Suma Pharmacy near Kachiguda, was supplying and selling Remdesivir illegally.
