Hyderabad: NALSAR's Centre for Tribal and Land Rights (CTLR) signed an MoU with the government of Andhra Pradesh to provide legal support for the AP government's resurvey project YSR Jagananna Saswatha Bhoo Hakku Mariyu Bhoo Raksha Pathakam.
The AP government, after more than 100 years, has undertaken a massive resurvey of agricultural and non-agricultural lands. The project is expected to be executed in three years with a budget outlay of Rs. 1,000 crores. As per the plan, every parcel of land in the state is going to be surveyed and numbered with geo-quadrants.
This project requires legal support in drafting, reviewing, and preparing legal documents; imparting training; undertaking legal research; resolving land disputes, and spreading legal awareness among the farmers. In this light, the state government and NALSAR University have signed an MoU to help the farmers.
NALSAR will provide technical support in reviewing, drafting, and preparing legal documents pertaining to implementation of the YSR Jagananna Saswatha Bhoo Hakku Mariyu Bhoo Raksha Pathakam. Further, it will also impart training to various stakeholders involved in the implementation of the resurvey project and also prepare awareness material to educate the farmers on the resurvey project along with taking steps to spread awareness.
