But what has surprised many is that among the many photos of the accused was one of Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh from the movie 'Ram-Leela.'
When asked about it, the police said the key accused, Praveen Kumar from Quthbullapur, looked like Ranveer Singh. So for identification, the actor's photo was used. Later, the cops shared another photo of Praveen Kumar and Ranveer Singh. However, this could not save them as they did not look alike. But at least the netizens had a good laugh.
Sleuths of The Hyderabad Narcotic Enforcement Wing (H-NEW) and the Chikkadpally police busted a hash oil supplying network in Hyderabad. They arrested a drug supplier and three drug peddlers and seized 60 bottles of hash oil (5 grams each) and 400 liters of petroleum ether. Among the arrested was the kingpin behind the racket, N. Praveen Kumar (32), and three drug peddlersāP. Mohan Yadav (26), P. Kalyan (24), and B. Suresh (26).
Praveen Kumar used to supply hash oil to 15 drug peddlers in Hyderabad and other peddlers in Bangalore. He had contacts with ganja cultivators in Alagam village of G. Madugula mandal, Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. He also purchased petroleum ether from chemical traders in Kukatpally, Hyderabad, transported it to ganja cultivating areas in the agency area, and prepared hash oil in collaboration with ganja cultivators. He then supplied the hash oil to drug peddlers in Hyderabad and Bangalore.
On 30 December, based on a tip-off, the police caught Praveen selling hash oil to the three peddlers. Three mobile phones, Rs. 14 lakhs cash, and a small truck carrying petroleum ether were seized from their possession.
