Hyd traffic to come to standstill on 16 Aug for mass national anthem singing

Hyderabad: All public and private transport will come to a standstill at 11.30 a.m on 16 August in view of the Telangana government's mass national anthem singing programme.

The mass singing of the national anthem will be held on 16 August at 11.30 a.m. The Hyderabad traffic police will stop traffic at all signaled junctions by turning all the traffic signals red. Traffic will also be stopped at junctions manned by traffic police, said A.V Ranganath, the joint commissioner of traffic, Hyderabad.

The national anthem will be played in all public address systems at 11.30 a.m.

All citizens have been requested to stand and sing the national anthem at such junctions.

Additionally, Hyderabad metro trains will be stopped for a minute at 11.30 a.m on 16 August and the national anthem will be played on the trains and at metro stations.
