Hyderabad: A special court on Thursday sentenced a woman caretaker to 20 years rigorous imprisonment for sexually abusing a minor boy in a school four years ago.
The special court for POCSO Act cases also imposed Rs 10,000 fine on a 27-year-old woman who had also caused burn injuries to the boy using a cigarette butts while molesting him in the school washroom.
The incident had occurred in November 2017 at a school in Chandrayangutta in the old city of Hyderabad.
The woman had sexually abused the nine-year-old boy when he went to relieve himself. Police said she also used cigarette butts while sexually assaulting him.
The boy, who was initially scared of the consequences, later narrated the tale to his parents. They immediately approached the Chandrayangutta police and lodged a formal complaint.
Police registered a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. She was later arrested.
