Hyderabad: Four people were injured and 25 others rescued after a fire broke out in a three-storey building housing a sofa manufacturing warehouse at Jiyaguda Venkateshanagar under the jurisdiction of the Kulsumpura police station.

The fire originated from a sofa manufacturing warehouse located on the ground floor and rapidly spread to the first floor.

Thick smoke alerted the residents, who informed the fire department. Approximately 25 people were trapped inside the building but were successfully rescued by locals, firefighters, and police.

Four members of a family residing on the first floor sustained injuries and were shifted to Osmania Hospital for treatment. Among the injured is a 10-year-old girl named Shiva Priya, who is in critical condition.

Initial investigations suggest at a short circuit may have caused the fire. However, there are allegations that the sofa warehouse was operating illegally in an unauthorized building. The entire structure was consumed by the flames, resulting in significant property damage but, fortunately, no loss of life.

Police are investigating the incident to determine the cause of the fire.
