The incident occurred after Fareeda Begum (24) arrived at Niloufer Hospital on Thursday morning with her two sons: a four-year-old and a six-month-old Faizal Khan. She was accompanied by her mother Jafri Begum, and she sought medical attention for her elder sonās health condition.
While Jafri Begum was attending to the elder sonās treatment, Fareeda was taking care of Faizal. While waiting, Fareeda struck up a conversation with another woman nearby who claimed to have a two-month-old baby boy undergoing treatment at the hospital.
Around 6:30 pm, a food distribution vehicle arrived at the hospital premises. Fareeda placed her baby next to the lady, requesting her to watch over him, and went to collect food. Approximately 10 minutes later, upon returning, she discovered that her baby boy and the lady were missing from the spot. Inquiries with others in the vicinity revealed that the lady had left with the baby.
Fareeda immediately sought assistance from the hospital staff and security, subsequently involving the police.
