Hyderabad: ACB registers 17 cases in Feb; 23 public servants held; Rs 7.60 L seized
A total of Rs 7,60,000 was seized in trap cases of various departments

Hyderabad: Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB), Hyderabad has registered a total of 17 cases in February 2025. Of these, 15 are trap cases and two cases of Disproportionate Assets.
As many as 23 public servants, including two outsourcing employees/private persons, were trapped/arrested and remanded in judicial custody, according to a statement released by the ACB.
A total of Rs 7,60,000 was seized in trap cases of various departments, viz. BC Welfare, Energy, Home, Forest, Agriculture & Cooperation, Education, Social Welfare, Panchayat Raj & Rural Development, Revenue, MA UD and Transport, Roads and Buildings.
In two disproportionate assets cases, assets worth Rs 4,13,78,767 were unearthed, the ACB officials said. Further, the Bureau got conviction in one trap case i.e., GM Sudarshan, Panchayat Secretary, Kotagiri Village & Mandal, Nizamabad District, who had been trapped in the year 2014.
Sudarshan was convicted on February 14 and sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for one year and to pay a fine of Rs 20,000 for the offense punishable U/s 7 of the PC Act, 1988 and further sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for one year and to pay a fine of Rs 20,000 for the offense punishable U/s 13(1)(d) r/w 13(2) of the PC Act, 1988.
The ACB officials urged people to call 1064 (toll-free number) to report any public servant asking for a bribe.
