Hyderabad: Adulterated Vijaya Ghee racket busted, two held

On credible information, the sleuths of Commissioner's Task Force, South Zone Team along with Vijaya Dairy Development officials and Shahinayathgunj Police raided New Famous Transport in Jummerath Bazar. Deepak Penurkar (55) of Saidabad and Rahul Agarwal (31) of Himayathnagar were caught redhanded selling adulterated ghee with Holograms of Vijay Dairy products, police said.
Deepak, who originally hails from Maharashtra, is residing at Saidabad along with his family. He is running the OYO lodge in the same area. Due to the lockdown, he incurred losses. Later he hatched a plan with his distant relative Rahul Agarwal and started selling adulterated ghee.
On the direction of Rahul Agarwal, Deepak established his own manufacturing unit at his native place Nanded and started production of adulterated Ghee with Palmolein oil and vegetable fats. The same has been repacked in the Poly - Packs which are designed as Vijaya Telangana Brand.
Later the adulterated Ghee was being sent to Rahul who was selling it to customers. The accused and seized material were handed over to Station House Officer (SHO), Shahinayathgunj police station, for further action.
