Hyderabad: HYDRAA enforcement teams on Monday demolished unauthorized structures inside the Fertilizers Corporation of India Employees Cooperative (FCI) Housing Society Layout at Gachibowli.
The action follows the court’s sharp criticism of alleged encroachments by Sandhya Convention owner Sridhar Rao at FCI Housing Society Layout.
Encroachments spark legal battle
The dispute involves a 20-acre layout comprising 162 plots, where several plot owners accused Sridhar Rao of encroaching upon roads, parks, and open areas, in addition to claiming ownership over a majority of the plots.
Last Tuesday, Justice Vijayasen Reddy noted serious irregularities and warned that such violations cannot be allowed to continue.

Plot owners detail harassment, illegal constructions
During the hearing, affected plot owners submitted that: Layout boundaries were erased to facilitate illegal constructions, roads and parks were occupied without regard for sanctioned plans, Sridhar Rao attempted to intimidate owners into parting with their plots.
A woman plot owner was allegedly assaulted and implicated in false cases. Many were prevented from even accessing their own property. The complainants also reminded the court that the Supreme Court had earlier imposed a Rs 10 lakh penalty on Sridhar Rao in a related matter.
HYDRAA confirms violations after field inspection
The owners said they approached HYDRA only after facing threats and physical intimidation. HYDRAA officials visited the site, verified encroachments on public spaces, and confirmed deviations from the approved layout.
The agency informed the court that once a layout is sanctioned, its road and park areas cannot be altered or claimed by any individual.
HC reassures owners, orders restoration of roads and parks
After hearing the grievances, Justice Vijayasen Reddy said the High Court had already directed HYDRAA to restore the original layout, including roads and parks, and assured plot owners that the court stood firmly behind them.
The judge reiterated that the layout must remain intact and that violations would be dealt with strictly.
Unauthorized sheds and structures razed
Acting on the court’s directions, HYDRAA carried out demolitions early on Monday. Unauthorized sheds and constructions lacked permissions and were built on areas earmarked for public use, officials said.
The case has been posted for final hearing on November 18, and further action is likely based on the court’s outcome.
