Hyderabad: Amazon delivery boy jumps off third floor to escape dog attack; injured

Hyderabad: An Amazon delivery boy suffered serious injuries when he jumped off a third floor after he was allegedly attacked by a pet Labroador dog in a flat located in Panchavati Colony, Manikonda, Hyderabad. The incident happened at around 12.30-1 pm on Sunday.
The delivery boy has been identified as 27-year-old Mohammed Eliyas.
According to the police, a Labrador dog, which was apparently not tied with a leash started barking at Eliyas when he went to deliver a mattress to a flat. Out of fear, he jumped from the third floor of the apartment building. He sustained multiple fractures as he fell down on the sidewall of the building.
He was rushed to a hospital where his condition is stated be out of danger. Raidurgam police have recorded the statement of the delivery boy.
According to the people residing in the apartment, the owner of the flat tried to save the delivery boy, but he slipped from the third floor. She immediately raised the alarm, but could not save him from falling.
Case has been registered by Cyberabad police against the dog owners. A case has been registered under section 289 of IPC (negligent conduct with respect to animal).
This incidents reminds of first such incident which happened in Hyderabad in January. A 23-year-old Swiggy delivery Rizwan died after being attacked by a pet dog in an apartment in Banjara Hills. He died while undergoing treatment. He was attacked by a German shepherd dog when he knocked on the door., Rizwan had jumped from the third floor of the apartment.
