Hyderabad can now dial 1070 to report encroachments, flood-related emergencies
Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) has introduced a toll-free helpline 1070 to register complaints and seek assistance during emergencies.
Announcing this on Tuesday, HYDRAA Commissioner AV Ranganath said the initiative aims to strengthen public services and protect community assets.
Grievances on encroachments
The helpline will enable citizens to report cases of encroachment on lakes, nalas, parks, government lands and spaces meant for public use. “People can immediately inform HYDRAA if they notice any such violations,” the commissioner said.
Support during natural disasters
Apart from grievances, the toll-free number will also serve as a lifeline during natural calamities. Citizens can call 1070 in situations such as heavy rains leading to waterlogging, tree falls, or fire accidents. HYDRAA teams will respond promptly to minimise risks and damages.
Mobile numbers for quick response
To strengthen accessibility, HYDRAA has also released three mobile numbers:
8712406899 – For complaints related to government and public property within the ORR limits. Citizens can also send photos and videos via WhatsApp to this number.
8712406901 and 9000113667 – For reporting flood-related issues, fire accidents, and other emergencies.
Public appeal
The commissioner urged citizens to make full use of the toll-free number and the additional mobile contacts.
“The cooperation of people is vital to safeguard public assets and to ensure a timely response during disaster situations,” he emphasised.
