Hyderabad: CBIT, Gandipet student killed after speeding car hits motorbike on ORR Service Road

Hyderabad: A 21-year-old engineering student was killed when a speeding car hit a bike near Nanakaramguda Rotary on ORR Service Road on Monday.

Identified as Ireni Shivani, she was pursuing B. Tech at CBIT Gandipet. The student was staying at a hostel in Gandipet.

On Monday, she attended an SSC alumni meet Nizam Sagar, Nizamabad. On her way back, she got down at Gachibowli and her bike-borne friend Venkat Reddy picked her up. When they reached Nanakaramguda Rotary on ORR Service Road near Amma Vari temple, a speeding car driven by 19-year-old Yedlapati Sri Kalash hit the bike. Shivani suffered severe head and other injuries. Venkat Reddy sustained injuries on his legs, hands, and other parts of the body.

Both of them were rushed to Kondapur Government Hospital. Doctors declared Shivani dead on arrival, while Venkat Reddy is undergoing treatment.
