Hyderabad DAV School: Driver sentenced to 20 yrs jail for sexually assaulting minor

Hyderabad: The Nampally Fast Track court on Tuesday sentenced 20 years jail term for the principal's driver of DAV Public School Rajini Kumar for sexually assaulting a 4-year-old girl LKG student studying at the DAV Public School in Banjara Hills.
On October 19, 2022, driver was arrested for sexually assaulting the girl for two months. DAV School Principal S Madhavi Reddy was booked for negligence in restricting his driver's access to the classrooms.
On Tuesday, the main accused Rajani Kumar who was found guilty for the offence punishable U/sec.376AB IPC and Sec.5(m) r/w.Sec.6 of POCSO Act, 2012 and is convicted U/sec.252(2) Cr.P.C. The accused along with 20 year jail, is to pay a fine of Rs.5000, for touching her private parts and sexually harassing her.
However, accused 2 Madhavi is not found guilty for the offence U/sec.21 of POCSO Act, and accordingly she is acqultted U/sec.252(1) of Cr.P.C. The ball bonds of the accused No.2 shall stand cancelled after completion of appeal time.
The four year old was studying LKG in DAV public school. Five months after joining the school, she suffered leg pains in grain region. After the girl's parents noticed changes in the girl's behavior as she was not answering questions, her parents found out that the child was depressed and crying. Later they came to know that child was raped. The accused used to come to the digital classroom and cause trouble to the children. As a result, many children were afraid of him.

According to her parents, she said her child would complain of pain and cry after returning from school. She wouldn't tell me what happened. She was crying inside the bathroom, and I was crying outside. The accused used to press her neck, slap her, and threaten her she would be killed if she dared to say anything at home.
Parents approached the school management soon after they came to know about the horrific incident. When they didn't get an adequate response, they filed a police complaint at Banjarahills police station. Parents said the digital room where the assault happened was right across the Principal's cabin. Even other kids have complained about taking them into the digital room.
