Eagle busts drug party at Quack Arena pub in Kondapur, actress Hema issues clarification
Hyderabad: Seven persons, including an IAS officer’s son from Andhra Pradesh, tested positive for drug use during a raid at a popular Kondapur pub on Thursday night. The group included software professionals, a student, and a businessman.
The raid was carried out by the Elite Action Group for Drug Law Enforcement (EAGLE), along with Cyberabad Narcotics and Gachibowli police, at Quake Arena pub on the intervening night of April 2–3, where eight individuals were apprehended.
Coordinated raid following intelligence inputs
Acting on credible information about drug use at pubs and public venues, the EAGLE Force launched a targeted operation after receiving inputs that Quake Arena Pub was hosting a special event featuring international DJ “Black Coffee.”
Six teams comprising EAGLE Force personnel, Cyberabad Narcotics Police, and Gachibowli police were formed to conduct a surprise raid without disrupting the ongoing event.
Screening and Testing at the Venue
Prior intelligence gathering led officials to shortlist 64 individuals suspected of drug consumption. During the raid, selected attendees were subjected to on-the-spot drug screening using ABONN urine testing kits.
Initial tests identified four individuals positive for ganja and benzodiazepine. Further screening revealed four more persons positive for ganja and methamphetamine, taking the total to eight confirmed cases.
Details of those apprehended
The eight individuals apprehended for drug consumption were identified as:
Monish Umesh (Business) – tested positive for THC
Prudviraj (Construction contractor) – tested positive for THC
Abhishek (Software engineer) – tested positive for THC
Rishab (Business) – tested positive for THC
Harith (Software engineer) – tested positive for THC
Rithvik (Uber analyst) – tested positive for benzodiazepine and tricyclic antidepressant
Ritesh (Mobile shop owner) – tested positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine
Jyothiraditya – tested positive for THC
Case registered, probe underway
Gachibowli police have registered a case and launched an investigation. Officials are now probing the source of the drugs and examining whether the pub management violated any rules or failed to prevent illegal activities on the premises.

Foreign artist, DJ test negative
Police officials stated that foreign artist Alexander from Spain and the pub’s DJ Kayvee were also tested during the operation, and both returned negative results.
Case registered under NDPS Act
The apprehended individuals were handed over to Gachibowli Police Station for further enquiry.
A case has been registered as Crime No. 591/2026 under Sections 8(c) read with 27(a) and 27(b) of the NDPS Act, 1985. Investigation is currently underway to trace the supply network and sources of the drugs.
Actress Hema issues clarification
Telugu actress Hema, who attended the party, responded after the raid by sharing a video on Instagram. She confirmed her presence at the pub but stated that her drug test result was negative.
According to her statement, officials collected her urine sample and conducted the test on-site, which returned a negative result. She also shared visuals of the testing process, asserting that she had not consumed any drugs.
Focus on rehabilitation and prevention
Officials said the individuals admitted to drug consumption during questioning. Authorities plan to inform their parents or guardians and facilitate de-addiction support to prevent further dependency.
Public advisory issued
The EAGLE Force has urged youth and students to stay away from drugs, warning that substance abuse often leads to crime and social distress. Parents have been advised to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities.
