Hyderabad: An elderly couple organized a traditional burial and a five-day program to express their love and attachment for their pet dog `Scampyā€™.

Kothapalli Madhusudan Rao and Vijayalakshmi, who own a supermarket, have shown society how deep the bond between a pet and its human family can be.

Hailing from SR Nagar, the couple's two children pursued their education overseas. Scampy had been a beloved member of their family for 17 years, and the couple had raised it with great care and affection. However, Scampy fell sick two months ago and despite being taken to the hospital for treatment, it passed away on the 25th of this month.

The couple, who had arranged for Scampy's burial at the ESI graveyard, went a step further to express their love for their furry family member. They organized a five-day program and invited friends and family to honor Scampy's memory. The program included traditional rituals and prayers to pay respects to Scampy and express their deep attachment to him.

On the occasion of Scampy's death, the Kothapally couple arranged a dinner for everyone at their residence on Sunday. The event was an opportunity for the couple to share their grief with their loved ones and celebrate the life of their cherished pet.

Kothapalli Madhusudan Rao and Vijayalakshmi have shown that the bond between a pet and its human family can be just as strong and meaningful as any other relationship. Their love for Scampy transcended his passing, and they made sure to express their deep attachment to him through the traditional rituals and the program they organized in his memory.
