Hyderabad: Female ICFAI student sustains burns; cops rule out acid attack

Hyderabad: A female student from ICFAI University in Shankarpally sustained serious burn injuries after being scalded by hot water on Thursday. The incident, which resulted in severe burns to her back, legs and hands, has led to her hospitalisation.

Mokila inspector, in an official statement, ruled out the possibility of an acid attack. “We have investigated the incident thoroughly and can confirm that there was no acid involved. It was an unfortunate accident involving hot water,” he told NewsMeter.



The exact circumstances leading to the incident remain under investigation. Despite repeated attempts to seek clarification, the college management has refused to comment on the matter.

The victim’s condition is being closely monitored at the hospital. Further details are awaited as the police continue their inquiries into the incident.
