Hyderabad: A massive fire broke out on Saturday at a furniture showroom in Nampally, triggering panic among residents and prompting a large-scale rescue operation by fire and emergency services.
Fire at ground floor of four-storey building
The blaze erupted at Bacha Castle Furniture Shop, located on the ground floor of a four-storey building. Thick flames and smoke quickly engulfed the premises, forcing authorities to cordon off the area and evacuate nearby residents as a precaution.
Firefighters battle blaze, rescue efforts underway
At least four fire tenders were pressed into service to douse the flames. Heavy cranes were deployed at the site to aid firefighting and rescue operations.
Fire personnel also deployed a robot inside the building to assess conditions and support rescue efforts amid dense smoke.

Six people feared trapped
According to local residents, six people were believed to be inside the building, including a woman and her two children, at the time of the incident. Officials said efforts were on to verify the information and ensure the safety of all occupants.
Police, disaster teams on alert
Police, HYDRAA teams, and disaster management personnel rushed to the spot and are coordinating relief measures. Ambulances have been kept on standby at the site to handle any medical emergencies.
Authorities, along with locals, are also removing flammable materials from the vicinity to prevent the fire from spreading further.
CP Sajjanar reviews situation
Hyderabad City Police Commissioner, VC Sajjanar visited the scene and personally reviewed the situation, supervising rescue and firefighting operations.
Dense smoke continues to blanket the area, while officials said further details on casualties and the cause of the fire will be known after the operation concludes.
