Hyderabad: A five-year-old boy was killed when a lift crashed at Keerthi Apartments in Yellareddyguda on Wednesday.
The incident occurred under the jurisdiction of the Madhuranagar Police Station.
According to police, Narsa Nayudu, a security officer at Ramoji Film City, resides with his wife, Aishwarya, and two sons on the fifth floor of the apartment building. Their younger son, Harshavardhan (5), was studying UKG at a nearby private school.
After picking up both children from school in the evening, Aishwarya took them up to their flat using the apartment lift. When the lift reached the fifth floor, she opened the door, stepped out with her elder son, and turned to help Harshavardhan exit. However, as the younger child was stepping out, the lift suddenly moved downward.
Harshavardhan lost his balance and slipped into the gap between the lift and the floor. Aishwarya’s screams alerted residents, who immediately rushed to stop the lift and pull the child out.
