Hyderabad: Former IAS officer blames Moolrasa Milk for health problems; police register case

Hyderabad: A retired IAS officer has filed a complaint against the owner of Moolrasa Milk for allegedly supplying adulterated milk that resulted in severe health complications.

SK Sinha, 69, of Prashasan Nagar lodged a complaint at Jubilee Hills Police Station.

According to Jubilee Hills Police, Sinha, a kidney transplant survivor, highlighted the significance of consuming calcium-rich food for individuals with transplanted organs. Being advised to consume cow milk daily for its calcium content, Sinha had been sourcing the milk from a friend who owned cows.

However, circumstances changed when his friend's cow got pregnant. Turning to Moolrasa Milk which boasted of delivering pure and high-quality milk at Rs. 150 per liter, Sinha started consuming it from July 24, 2023.

Soon after, Sinha experienced itching on his feet, which he initially dismissed. But as days passed, he noticed alarming signs of health deterioration. He began accumulating fluid in both feet, experienced back pain, and endured persistent foot itching every morning after consuming the milk.

Growing suspicious of the milk's quality, Upon seeking medical attention, he decided to contact the owner of Moolrasa Milk July 3 to stop the milk supply.

The retired officer approached the police and alleged that the owner of Moolrasa Milk had endangered his life. Based on the complaint, Jubilee Hills Police registered a case under section 272 and 273 of the Indian Penal Code.
