Hyderabad: Former MIM activist murdered in Old City; accused surrenders before police

Sheikh Saeed Bawajir (30), a resident of Barkus, used to be a dedicated MIM party worker. However, he left the party a few years back and started running a Facebook page with the name "Jo dikta wo boltou, jo boltou wo kartou" under the pseudonym Shaik Sayeed Bawazeer.
On this platform, he discussed public issues in the Jalpally municipality and openly criticized Education Minister Sabitha Reddy, Jalpally Municipal Chairman Abdullah Saad, and some others.
Recently, cases were registered against him at the Balapur police station. Against this backdrop, he posted a video claiming that there were attempts on his life by certain individuals.
A week ago, he complained to the Chandrayanagutta police station, expressing concern about his safety. He had alleged that he received death threats potentially from contract killers (supari hitmen). He even mentioned specific names in a video he released.
He recently posted another video on social media criticizing MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi. A few days back, he had moved to a rented room near the Royal Sea Hotel, within the jurisdiction of the Bandlaguda police station.
On Thursday night, unidentified individuals stormed his house and fatally stabbed him. Police have identified a person, a rowdy sheeter from Bhawaninagar, who is believed to have committed the stabbing. According to sources, this individual has reportedly surrendered before the police.
