Hyderabad gears up to host Miss World 2025 with a cultural flourish and global welcome

Hyderabad: As the city of Hyderabad prepares to host the grand Miss World 2025 pageant from May 10 to 31, the atmosphere is already buzzing with color, culture, and global camaraderie. With 116 contestants arriving from across the world, the celebrations are not just about beauty and glamour—they’re becoming a showcase of Telangana’s hospitality and heritage.

This morning, the Shamshabad airport was transformed into a vibrant corridor of culture. Traditional dancers welcomed the international delegates with rhythmic steps and spirited smiles. Fresh flower garlands were offered, and a ceremonial tilak was placed on each contestant’s forehead—marking the beginning of a journey deeply rooted in Indian customs.

Among today’s arrivals were Miss Ghana, Jutta Ama Pokuhaa Addo, and Miss Namibia, Selma Carlicia Kamany, who were received at Trident Hyderabad with full honors. The contestants were visibly moved by the warm welcome.

The cultural presentation began right from the airport, underscoring Telangana’s aim to not just host Miss World, but to make every guest feel the spirit of India.

High-Level Review for Seamless Execution

Later in the day, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy chaired a high-level review meeting at the Command Control Center to assess the multi-departmental preparations. With contestants, delegates, and nearly 3,000 media personnel expected, the CM emphasized seamless coordination across all sectors.

ā€œMiss World 2025 is not just an event—it’s a global stage. We must ensure it’s dignified, secure, and deeply reflective of Telangana’s identity,ā€ he stated.

The meeting was attended by ministers Jupally Krishna Rao, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao, Special Chief Secretary Jayesh Ranjan, DGP Jitender, and city police officials including C.V. Anand and G. Sudheer Babu.

Security, Logistics, and Contingency Planning

The Chief Minister directed the State Police to enhance surveillance, particularly around venues such as Gachibowli Indoor Stadium, Charminar, Lad Bazaar, Chowmahalla Palace, and the Secretariat. Each event in the pageant itinerary will have a designated nodal officer, ensuring meticulous execution.

Precautions are also being planned for unexpected weather and logistical challenges. The GHMC and HYDRAA departments have been instructed to remain alert for potential disruptions from heavy winds or rain.

Culture Meets Global Glamour

The visiting contestants will experience more than just a competition—they’ll get a taste of Telangana’s rich heritage. Visits are scheduled to DWCRA Bazaar, the Telangana Thalli statue, and local heritage sites, while a special evening at the IPL semi-finals in Uppal Stadium will give guests a glimpse of Indian cricket fever.

ā€œFrom airport receptions to heritage walks, every moment should reflect the cultural fabric of our state,ā€ CM Revanth Reddy emphasized.

Bringing Telangana to the World

The government has also directed the installation of arches and hoardings across Hyderabad to amplify the Miss World buzz. Public representatives, celebrities, and students from various welfare residential schools will be invited to witness the grandeur, ensuring inclusive participation.

With the first arrivals already expressing heartfelt gratitude, and the city’s streets preparing for a month-long celebration, Hyderabad is not just hosting a pageant—it’s making a global statement through tradition, coordination, and pride.
