Hyderabad: 2nd longest flyover from Aramghar to Zoo Park inaugurated by CM Revanth Reddy

Hyderabad: The Zoo Park-Aramghar flyover was opened to the public in Hyderabad on Monday. Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy who inaugurated the flyover announced that it will be named after former prime minister Dr Manmohan Singh.

While the previous Congress regime built the longest flyover in Telanganaā€“PV Narasimha Rao Express highwayā€“under former chief minister Dr YS Rajashekhara Reddy, the present Congress government has constructed the second largest flyover in the city.

Flyover constructed in record time

The flyover, constructed in record time, is an indication of the Congress government, under CM Revanth Reddy, making urban development a priority and the re-imagination of the capital city under mission ā€˜Hyderabad Risingā€™. Soon after coming to power, the Congress government said it is making an all-out effort to solve every problem of the metropolis, similar to how during the Nizam rule, Osman Sagar and Himayat Sagar were built to address the drinking water problem in Hyderabad.

On the occasion, CM Revanth Reddy said that, as part of Vision 2050, initiatives are being taken up to provide drinking water for the city in a sustainable way for the coming decades.

Flyover to decongest city traffic

The cityā€™s second-longest flyover from Aramghar to Zoo Park flyover will be thrown open for the public on Monday at 4 pm. Constructed for Rs 799.74 crore, the 4.04-kilometer flyover is expected to ease traffic congestion in several key areas of Hyderabad, including Aramghar, Shastripuram, Kalapathar, Darul Uloom, Shivrampally, and Hassannagar. The flyover was constructed at a cost of over Rs 799.74 crore.

Earlier, its inauguration was postponed twice. Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) wanted to get it inaugurated by Chief Minister.

The bi-directional six-lane flyover is the 23rd in the city and is the second longest after the PV Narasimha Rao Express flyover. This project is part of the Strategic Road Development Plan (SRDP), under which 36 out of 42 planned works have been completed.

Metro rail expansion and Musi project

The Metro rail expansion and Musi rejuvenation project are not only meant for the development of Hyderabad city but also to ensure long-term environmental sustainability and an answer to climate crises.

ā€œWe are ready to join hands with everyone for the development of Hyderabad. We will move forward with the MIM for development. We pursue politics only during the elections. Development must become a peopleā€™s movement,ā€ CM Revanth said.

Cable bridge over Mir Alam Tank

Telangana will develop further once the Regional Ring Road work is completed. This is not an Old City but an ā€˜original cityā€™ and ā€˜original Hyderabadā€™. The government will take up the construction of a cable bridge over Mir Alam Tank and develop it as a major tourist attraction, he said.

We are prepared to provide funds for the development and the responsibility of completing the work lies with the public representatives. The foundation stone for the construction of Osmania Hospital at Goshamahal will be laid soon, he said.
