Hyderabad: Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has increased the number of cranes and introduced carefully planned traffic management strategies to minimize congestion and ensure a smooth, speedy, and hassle-free Ganesh idol immersion this year.
More cranes for faster immersions
Following police department recommendations, GHMC will deploy a higher number of cranes compared to last year to facilitate quicker and more efficient immersion of Ganesh idols. This move is expected to significantly reduce waiting times and streamline the entire process.
Traffic management plans are in place.
To prevent traffic jams during the Ganesh processions, GHMC officials have prepared detailed route maps in advance. These routes aim to optimize traffic flow and reduce delays, ensuring devotees can participate in the festivities without inconvenience.
Joint efforts for peaceful celebrations
GHMC Commissioner RV Karnan emphasized that the corporation, police, and other government departments will work closely in coordination to maintain law and order throughout the festival. Preparatory and coordination meetings have already been conducted to finalize all arrangements.

Infrastructure repairs to support festivities
Repair works on roads damaged by recent heavy rains are currently underway within the city limits. Additionally, any necessary repairs on national highways where Ganesh processions take place will be completed promptly to ensure safe and smooth movement.
Adequate budget allocation
Commissioner Karnan reassured the public that there are no financial constraints for this yearās Ganesh celebrations. More funds have been allocated compared to previous years to support various aspects of the festivities, including safety measures and public convenience.
With these comprehensive preparations, GHMC aims to provide residents of Greater Hyderabad with a grand, smooth, and memorable Ganesh festival this year, he added.
Law and Order focus
Additional Commissioner of Police Vikramsingh Mann provided several suggestions to maintain law and order during the celebrations. The Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Committee members also presented recommendations to authorities to facilitate smooth and peaceful festivities.
