Hyderabad: An intermediate student was abducted and gang-raped by a group of men at Sanath Nagar in Hyderabad.
The incident occurred on November 25. However, it came to the fore on December 5, when the victimās parents lodged a police complaint.
According to the complaint, the incident happened on November 25 at around 10 am when the victim went to a nearby grocery shop. While she was returning, a person followed her. He told her that he was a friend of a man who married her sister.
Soon she heard a whistle and two persons forcibly bundled her into a car. The group of men took the victim to an unknown area where she was raped.
One of the accused kicked the victim in the stomach. He also threatened to kill her sister if she narrated this incident to anyone.
She was dropped at the lane near her house at around 3.30 pm on the same day. Fearing for the life of her sister, she did not reveal the incident to anyone.
When she went home, her mother had left for Guntur to visit her parent's place. She called her mother and said that she too wanted to join her. The following day, she along with her father went to Guntur. Except for her mother, the family members returned on November 30.
On December 4, when her mother returned, she found something suspicious. On probing, the victim informed her mother about the incident.
"She did not inform about the incident immediately because she was worried about her parent's safety and sisterās marriage", said the complainant.
A case under the POCSO Act has been registered at Madhura Nagar police station. Later the case was transferred to Sanath Nagar police station. Further investigation is on.
