Hyderabad horror: Man throws party to celebrate new job of his childhood friend only to rape her; arrested

Hyderabad: Police have arrested Yadla Gowtham Reddy for raping his childhood friend in a hotel at Vanasthalipuram. His friend and partner in crime Shivaji Reddy alias Chintu Reddy is on the run.

Police said on July 29, Yadla Gowtham Reddy took the 24-year-old victim to Bommarillu (Sreerastu) Bar & Restaurant, Omkarnagar, Vanasthalipuram to celebrate as she had got a corporate job.

Later the accused forced the victim to drink VODKA. When she fell unconscious, he took her to a room in the same hotel and allegedly raped her. Later he called his friend Chintu Reddy to the hotel where he too allegedly raped the victim. After committing the crime, both accused fled from the scene.

After regaining consciousness, she called her friend Niranjan. He called other friends and they rushed to the hotel and shifted the victim to Orange Hospital, L.B. Nagar. Niranjan also informed her brother who too reached the hospital.

On July 30, the brother of the victim formally lodged a complaint with Vanasthalipuram police station.

ACP Vanasthalipuram took up the investigation and visited the scene of the crime. The statement of the victim was also recorded by WSI, L.B. Nagar Zone.

ACP Vanasthalipuram formed special teams under the supervision of CP Rachakonda and DCP L.B. Nagar Zone. On July 30, police apprehended the Yadla Gowtham Reddy from Sampurna Hotel, Abdullapurmet. Police said he is being produced before the court.

Police said the main accused was arrested within 18 hours of the report. A massive manhunt has been launched to nab the second accused.
