Hyderabad: A 23-year-old woman jumped off a moving train to escape a sexual assault.

According to the police, the victim who lives in a hostel in Medchal had come to Secunderabad to repair her mobile phone.

After repairing, she boarded a ladies' coach of Telapur-Medchal MMTS train to return to the hostel.

During the journey, two female co-passengers de-boarded the train at Alwal railway station. Finding her alone, an unknown man tried to sexually harass her. Unable to bear the torture, she jumped off the moving train. She sustained several bleeding injuries on her head, chin, and other body parts.

Later, passersby called 108 ambulance and shifted her to Gandhi Hospital, Secunderabad. She told police that she would identify that person if she saw him again.

A case has been registered and an investigation is on.
