Hyderabad: Police have arrested a woman for blackmailing cops by sharing explicit videos and photos on their mobile phones.
Identified as Bolima, she has allegedly been targeting uniformed personnel, including police and defense staff, under the pretense of seeking help.
According to Gopalapuram police, Bolima has been frequently spotted roaming near the Secunderabad Railway Station area during odd hours over the past four months. She is accused of approaching men in uniform and requesting the use of their mobile phones to make an āurgent callā to her family. Once she gains access to their phones, she reportedly dials her own number and saves their contact information.
She then sends explicit photos and videos to these individuals, later using the content to blackmail them. She allegedly demands money and threatens to report them to their superiors or through public grievance platforms such as Prajavani if they refuse to comply.
At least three individuals have reportedly fallen victim to her, including a man identified as R. Reddy, an Indian Army personnel. Despite these incidents, none of the victims have officially filed a complaint, possibly due to fear of professional or personal repercussions.
Police sources have also indicated that Bolima has a history of involvement in theft cases. As per the complaint filed by Gopalapuram patrolling constable Mahesh, a case was registered on Tuesday under Sections 308(2) and 318(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and an investigation is currently underway.
