Hyderabad: How EAGLE team bust drugs racket in Bowenpally’s Medha High School
Hyderabad: In a sensational crackdown, the EAGLE team uncovered a large-scale drug manufacturing unit inside a shut-down private school in Bowenpally.
The raid exposed how the premises of Medha High School were secretly converted into a narcotics hub, sending shockwaves across the locality.
Drugs found in Principal’s room
During Saturday’s raid, officials recovered narcotic tablets from the school principal’s room. Investigations revealed that the building’s second floor had been converted into a drug unit as early as last year.
Using worm-killing tablets mixed with chemicals, the accused were manufacturing synthetic drugs and supplying them to liquor compounds, the EAGLE team officials said.
Mastermind identified
Police identified Goud as the key mastermind. He allegedly shut down the school and ran drug production during the day while conducting tuition classes in the evenings to avoid suspicion. The factory spanned three floors and operated with four reactors.
Arrests and Major Seizures
Six people were taken into custody, including four workers engaged in production. From the premises, police seized 7 kg of Alprazolam, Rs 20 lakh cash, four reactors and chemicals, and other drug-making equipment.
Supply network across states
Officials said the highly addictive drug Alprazolam was being produced in bulk and distributed not only within Hyderabad but also across Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Tamil Nadu.
Wider probe underway
The EAGLE team initially nabbed Goud with 5 kg of Alprazolam before raiding the school. Investigators suspect the school principal and others were deeply involved.
The seized drugs are valued at several crores, and officials say the bust has delivered a serious blow to the Secunderabad drug mafia.
More details are awaited.
