Hyderabad: How Fortune Hotel owner Paheliwan Akhilesh forced young girls into prostitution

She was among the 16 victims from different states pushed into the flesh trade by Ramnagar Akhil Paheilwan aka Saluvadi Akhilesh.
The 34-year-old Akhilesh, who owns Fortune Hotel located at Big Bazar Lane, Abids, has turned out to be the kingpin of a prostitution racket that was busted by police on Thursday.
Akhil Pailwan also posed pictures with Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and BJP Karimnagar MP Bandi Sanjay, which created a flutter on social media. However, he was soon arrested by the police. A case has been booked under section 370, 370A IPC, 3,4,5 PIT Act.
Case details
On January 18, K Narasimha, Detective Inspector of Police, Abids received information that Akhilesh Paheilwan, owner of Fortune Hotel, along with his associates was running a brothel on his hotel premises. Narasimha placed the information before the ACP Abids who were authorized to raid the premises, arrest the accused, and seize the material evidence.
With the support of mediators Saleem and Chandrakanth, police asked them to act as Panchas. Narasimha proceeded to the Fortune Hotel along with a sub-inspector, constables, and two Panchas. At about 7:45 pm, the police raided the Fortune Hotel and found two men at the reception.
“We questioned one of the persons, Saluvadi Akhilesh, a resident of Vidyanagar, Hyderabad. On investigation, Akhilesh revealed that he is the owner of Fortune Hotel and running a brothel with the help of his associate Pakkala Raghupathi at the hotel,” said Sub Inspector (SI) N Sudhakar.
The SI said that Akhilesh procured female sex workers through PK, Prabath Majunder, Simani, Raju Bhai, and Deepak Arjun from various states for illegal business. All of them were natives of West Bengal. “We have questioned Pakkala Raghupathi who is working as receptionist/sub brothel organizer. As per his instruction, he used to contact people over the cell phone and procure female sex workers as well as customers. He used to collect Rs 3,000 to Rs 5,000 for one hour,” he said.
During the raid, the police also identified 12 sex workers— Hasina Jamadar, Laxmi Roy, Keerthi aka Shalu, Sakina Samad Sayed, Aparna Majumdar, Rime Biswas, Momin Shabnam, Mariyam Bibi, Puja Sharma Arina Roy, Piya Shaik and Ashu Rajkumar Thakur.
The sex workers disclosed that they had been hired by the organizer and sub-organizer through their known persons and given accommodation in their hotel. They said the hotel operators were arranging customers and collecting huge amounts from them.
All the sex workers were rescued and taken into custody. A statement by Saluvadi Akhilesh, Pakkala Raghupathi, Abhishek Bhati, Keshav Vyas, Abdul Khaled, and C Santosh was also recorded. Police also seized six cell phones, 13 condom packets, five guest registration card books, and two customer register books from them.
