Hyderabad: How scammers cheat with lucrative job advts on Telegram App
The modus operandi includes posting false job advertisements and then asking for a submission fee

The case has brought to light the perilous repercussions of false job advertisements circulating on platforms like Telegram.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Pujari Damodar, B Srikanth Reddy, Anke Srichetan, and Nunna Narendra Babu. They have been, accused of deceiving innocent individuals under the guise of lucrative investment opportunities.
Deceptive Practices Unveiled
The modus operandi includes posting false job advertisements and then asking for a submission fee.
Later the accused entice victims with promises of part-time employment and consistent earnings through Telegram applications.
Victims, like one from Tirumalagiri, Secunderabad, fell prey to the scheme after being lured into an online airline ticket booking app. Despite assurances of refundable deposits after booking a minimal number of tickets, victims found themselves trapped in a cycle of forced transactions with no option for withdrawal, resulting in significant financial losses.
Wide-ranging Fraud Network Exposed
The arrested individuals collaborated with cyber fraudsters to exploit unsuspecting individuals seeking financial opportunities.
āTheir involvement in numerous cases across India, including four registered in Telangana State alone, underscores the pervasive nature of their fraudulent activities,ā said Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad Cybercrimes in a statement.
Law Enforcement Action
Led by Inspector of Police S. Naresh, a dedicated team of officers from the Cybercrime Police conducted a thorough investigation, and arrested the accused. The seizure of crucial evidence, including mobile phones, has aided in further unraveling the intricate web of deceit orchestrated by the fraudsters.

Authorities issue a stern caution to the public, urging vigilance against fraudulent online platforms promising lucrative returns through minimal investments. Social media platforms such as Telegram, Instagram, Facebook, and Whatsapp have become breeding grounds for deceptive job advertisements, preying on individuals' aspirations for financial stability.
